The HÂþ» receives transformative gift from the Estate of the late Nancy Ann Wolfers
Thursday 26 November 2020
The HÂþ» has received a bequest in excess of £800,000 from the Estate of Nancy Wolfers, which will benefit our Scholarships Fund. We anticipate that Nancy's generosity will be recognised through establishing the Nancy Wolfers Scholarship Fund, as well as naming one of the HÂþ»’s spaces in her honour.
Legacies are a vital source of philanthropic income for the Royal College of Music and this year we have again witnessed the extraordinary generosity of our legators. The special influence of legacies allows us to continue investing in the future of the HÂþ», and the extraordinary benevolence of Nancy Wolfers, who was a great music-lover herself, will have a life-changing impact on numerous HÂþ» students.

Director of Development and Alumni Engagement Lily Harriss said of the gift: 'Music played a significant role in Nancy's life, which she lived to the full through her varied interests and love of travel. She cared deeply about the future of music education and her legacy will live on through her inspirational gift to support aspiring young musicians at the Royal College of Music.'
By choosing to remember the HÂþ» in their Wills, our supporters’ love of music will live on and enrich the lives of many generations to come. Legacies, whether large or small, have the power to transform the lives of young musicians, in particular by growing our endowment fund so that scholarships can be awarded in perpetuity. We are grateful to all those who consider the HÂþ» in this meaningful way and invest in the future of our students, thereby advancing the enriching impact music has on our lives.
The HÂþ» is now offering access to the free online Will-writing service, (registered with the Fundraising Regulator). Leaving a gift to the HÂþ» in your Will is by no means a condition of using this service.
We are delighted to welcome new HÂþ» legacy pledgers to join our HÂþ» Legacy Ensemble so we can acknowledge their generosity through updates on our work and invitations to special events. Please see www.rcm.ac.uk/legacies for more information.
