Masterclass Marmen Quartet holding their instruments, smiling at the camera.
Join us this autumn!

Our Autumn Season weaves various threads through the term, including 150th anniversary celebrations for H alumnus Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and music from 20th-century France.

The Coleridge-Taylors

We delve into the sound-worlds of father and daughter composers Samuel and Avril Coleridge-Taylor, including a rare performance of Samuel’s choral ‘rhapsody of the sea’, Meg Blane, under the baton of Sofi Jeannin.

Boulez 100

Marking the centenary of this legendary French composer, Pierre Boulez’ music forms the heart of our Electric Dreams programme, as well as a pair of collaborative concerts with musicians from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.

Orchestral adventures

Sir James MacMillan directs the H Symphony Orchestra in a dazzling programme featuring his own music, whilst the H Philharmonic set sail on a sea-themed musical voyage culminating in Debussy’s majestic La mer.

Behind the scenes

Take a fascinating glimpse into the process behind the performance with insightful masterclasses by award-winning artists Alisa Weilerstein, Marmen Quartet, former concertmaster of the LSO Gordan Nikolić, and many more.

Something for everyone

From jazz with Ed Puddick to innovative compositions inspired by Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and from our Woodwind and Brass Festival to Janáček’s enchanting opera The Cunning Little Vixen, there really is something for all musical tastes at the H this autumn.
