Our Museum invites you to explore, hear and interact with more than 500 years of music-making.

Visit the Royal College of Music Museum to see priceless musical treasures, join a guided tour or attend special chamber performances.

Learn about the earliest stringed keyboard instrument, the most recognised portraits of Joseph Haydn and Farinelli and 56 other fascinating instruments specially chosen from the HÂþ»­’s designated collection of 14,000 items.

The redevelopment of the Royal College of Music Museum was made possible thanks to National Lottery players.

Opening times

Tuesday–Friday: 10.15am–5.45pm (last entry 5.15pm).

Saturday–Sunday: 11am–6pm (last entry 5.30pm). During the weekend the Museum closes for lunch between 1pm and 2pm.

Closed on Mondays

The HÂþ»­ Museum is closed from Monday 16 December to Monday 6 January 2025.

No need to book, just turn up on the day. Guided tours are available to book every Wednesday during term time.

Self-guided groups of up to 20 people are welcome free of charge, but we ask that you contact us in advance of your visit.

Combined tour and object handling session

Get hands-on with the HÂþ»­â€™s musical history. Enjoy a 30-minute tour of the Museum in a small group and handle unique objects from the HÂþ»­ collections in our brand-new research facility, the Wolfson Centre in Music & Material Culture.
