After studies at the Malm枚 Conservatory and the Royal Conservatory of Copenhagen, he rose to prominence when he won first prize at the Concours International de Guitare in Paris in 1978. He has since appeared worldwide in recitals and as soloist with major orchestras under conductors such as Claudio Abbado and Esa鈥慞ekka Salonen. His discography ranges from Bach and Dowland to his celebrated album Here, There and Everywhere, featuring arrangements of Beatles songs.
