Our programmes

Our Artist Diplomas in Performance,Composition,Opera and Conducting provide the highest level of artistic training and professional development for those who have already completed Masters-level study.
When to submit one application
If you are interested in more than one course, you may only need to submit one application if both courses are for the same principal study and will be assessed by the same audition panel.
Pathways on the Masters programme in Performance / Composition
We recommend submitting a single application if you are auditioning on one principal study, but you are:
a performer unsure whether to apply for the Master of Performance (MPerf) or the Master of Music (MMus) in Performance pathway.
a composer unsure whether to apply for the Master of Composition (MComp) and the MMus in Composition pathway.
undecided between the two‑year or fast‑track versions of the MMus in Performance or Composition.
You only require a one audition (or portfolio assessment) by the Faculty and can discuss with the audition/interview panel the best pathway for you.
Vocal courses
If you wish to be considered for both the Graduate Diploma in Vocal Performance (GradDip) and the Master of Performance / Master of Music in Performance (MPerf or MMusPerf), we recommend applying for one of the Masters courses and noting your interest in the GradDip in your UCAS Conservatoires personal statement.
If you hold a Masters degree or equivalent qualification but are unsure whether to apply for the Artist Diploma in Opera or the MPerf/MMus we recommend applying for the Artist Diploma so that you can be heard by the Director of Opera.
You only require one audition and the panel may recommend the lower level course if they feel it is suitable for you.
When to submit two applications
Two applications are needed where you will be required to undertake two separate assessment processes.
Two principal studies or courses
You will need to submit two applications and undertake two different assessment processes if:
you wish to be considered for two different principal studies at postgraduate level (e.g. piano and conducting, or composition and composition for screen).
you are interested in more than one of our Masters courses (e.g. the MMus in Performance and the MSc in Performance Science).
