HÂþ»JD visit days
Visit Days in 2024-25
HÂþ»JD visit days are an opportunity to see the HÂþ» building in-person and to meet the HÂþ»JD team.
Please note that attendance at a visit day is not compulsory before applying to the Junior Department - later opportunities will be provided for successful auditionees to visit the department before our offer acceptance deadline.
Visit sessions are usually held in the afternoons, and co-ordinated with our performance calendar so that 2025's prospective applicants and their parents/guardians also have the (optional) opportunity to see the Department's current students in action via one of our concerts. We are currently finalising the arrangements for our 2024-25 visit opportunities - if you would like to receive further details about dates and times as they become available, please complete the following form:
Alternatively, you are welcome to just come to one of our concerts! Please visit the HÂþ»’s What’s On pages for more details of our upcoming events, including how to book tickets.
Advance booking
Advance booking is essential as space is limited. Places are allocated on the basis of eligibility to apply for HÂþ»JD in the 2024-25 academic year. If you would like to apply to be considered for a place on one of our visit days, you must please start the process by submitting a request via the form above.
Parents
Due to restrictions on visitor numbers, only one parent/guardian will be able to accompany the visiting student.
Instruments
Instruments are not needed on a visit day. This is an observational day and we regret that we cannot involve you in any practical music-making activities that will require an instrument. You'll have to wait until your audition to show us how brilliant you are!
Refreshments
Refreshments, if required, can be purchased in our on-site cafe.
About your application to attend our Visit Day
Though we can't acknowledge receipt of your application, we will aim to let you know whether we can accommodate you as soon as we can.
Cancelling attendance at our Visit Day
If having been booked on a visit day you find you are no longer able to attend, please do let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer the place to someone on the waiting list.
